7.3.18. - Crawford to Gordon (72 miles)

Today was nowhere near as eventful as the day before. The route to Gordon had one larger town along the way named Chadron. Before and after Chadron were what seemed to be endless rolling fields. I took a break in Chadron for a meal and checked out part of the college campus in town, Chadron State. Like many college campus over the summer, Chadron State seemed like a ghost town. It was creeping up on noon, and I had to push on. The remainder of the ride, and the time in Gordon was fairly uneventful. This was quite a juxtaposition to the day before! In Gordon, I camped out in a city park. While it was July 3rd, there were a lot of people setting off their own fireworks from 4pm-11pm. This may have gone on later into the evening, but I must have nodded off shortly after 11pm. Getting on the road early tomorrow was necessary for two reasons: 91 miles to ride, and I hoped to avoid riding in the rain!
